ODXX6214 Economics, Environment And Sustainability

This course aims to provide exposure and knowledge to students about the fundamentals of economics leading to sustainable development through economic sustainability. In this course, students will be explained the introduction of the basic theory and philosophy of sustainability and economics as well as economic sustainability as a whole. The sustainability challenges and circular economy could introduce to give the view of the current issues facing in the economically insight. The method of natural resources valuation to be clarified so that economic resources can be used optimally to achieve maximum profit without wasting resources. An economic approach in interpreting the environment and evaluating policy solutions through a focus on market failures and external effects, common and economic solutions to preserve the environment. The case studies approaches of economic and environmental problems and the relationship between the economy and the environment is applied through the assignment activity to strengthen knowledge and understanding in determining the direction of the policy and development of economic sustainability among the community and the country.
